An Emphatic History of Enzowat Creatives
It all started last year, July 2011.
As a newly Registered Nurse, finding a job was quite a headache for me. Training sessions, seminars, and all those stuff didn't quite fit my groove. It really felt like being a nurse isn't my calling. The fact that I wasn't enthralled with what I was doing and doing it without any compensation made me think of other career options. I tried working as a call center agent. However, it is short-lived since I found it didn't challenge me enough.
Struggling to find my place in the working class community, I tried doing something that had been lingering in my thoughts since I was little. You see, I had a knack for visual arts. Whenever I have a pen or a piece of paper, things start to flow naturally. Drawing and designing has been my comfort zone for years. Using the skills that I have, I began making designs for personalized items. Kpop artists, especially SNSD, are my frequent sources of inspiration.
I began selling my designs over the internet. It was received well, a scenario that I was content with. When I see people wearing or using the designs I made, I felt happy. But, after a few months into my gig, I realized something. Given enough time, effort, and dedication, I can build myself as a graphic artist. It was a gut feeling, but I felt pretty sure. Being the impulsive thinker that I am, I decided to quit nursing entirely and focus on being a designer.
I experienced a lot of hassles since I decided to go full time. I am not a business major, so I am quite new to the whole corporate schema of the business. It was also difficult handling everything by myself. Fortunately, I have my younger brother and my dad to help me get some load off. There are a lot of kinks that need to be straightened out. Improvements are need to be made. They will all be done, in time.
Looking back on my journey, I can safely say that I am completely satisfied with where I am right now. I am driven by the same passion 12 months ago, and I will continue to grow each and every day. I made some mistakes, took some risks, but it all paid off. Now, with the support from my family, friends, and fellow graphic artists, we can make Enzowat Creatives grow and reach its full potential.
